Communities dream.
Magic happens.

Located in the heart of the Francisco community in northwest North Carolina, Francisco Park is where natural beauty and community spirit unite.

Welcome to Francisco Park

The neighborhood’s backyard - the heartbeat of a community where neighbors come together.

In 2023, fifteen acres in the heart of the Francisco community in northwest North Carolina were donated to Stokes County with a simple vision: create a park where the community can gather, grow, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Led by Our Communities of Northwest Stokes Foundation, Francisco Park is becoming a new heartbeat for the community — bringing people together and restoring a shared space that had been missing for years.

Our Stories

Behind the park’s growing trails and meadows are inspiring stories of partnership, learning, and community spirit. Discover how experts, volunteers, students, and nature lovers are helping the park come to life.

Big Plans. Beautiful Spaces. A Park Growing for Everyone.

Our Communities of Northwest Stokes Foundation is developing the park in two phases to create a welcoming outdoor space for everyone to enjoy. Phase 1, completed in October 2025, introduced scenic walking trails, a Monarch Butterfly Waystation, native trees, grasses, and wildflowers, along with picnic tables, benches, parking, signage, and a restroom. Invasive plants were removed and a dense screen of Virginia pines was cleared, opening access to the beautiful woods beyond.

Phase 2, estimated for completion in Fall 2027, will expand the park with ADA-compliant access, two picnic shelters, a large pavilion for gatherings and events, and a leveled playing field for recreation and community activities. Together, these improvements will create a vibrant park where nature and community will thrive.
